Driving Change

We had the pleasure of witnessing an incredible display of community spirit and generosity at a car show organized by Ms. Ashley Duran Garcia, a senior at University High School. Ashley produced this car show as her senior project, inspired by the support we provided to her brother in finding a job. Touched by our assistance, Ashley dedicated her efforts to hosting this event as a fundraiser for Jobs of Hope. To our surprise and delight, she managed every aspect of the show, coordinating with lowrider car clubs across the state, arranging vendors and entertainment, organizing contests with trophies, and securing donations for the entire event. The show attracted participants from as far away as Denver and Wyoming, and attendees praised it as one of the best they had ever experienced. The most remarkable part of this story is the donation Ashley presented to us: $1,463! This generous contribution is a testament to the impact our support can have, even beyond our direct programs. We are immensely grateful to Ashley for her hard work and dedication, and proud to have played a part in her brother's journey to employment.

Two people are smiling and posing together in a parking lot. The person on the left is wearing sunglasses and has their arm around the other person, who is wearing a "Brown N Proud" cap. Both individuals are holding up a black T-shirt with green graphics of a car and the text "Return Of The Funk Kickback Hosted By Ashley Garcia." Other people and vehicles are visible in the background.
